Accountability - Balance - Common Sense
Aloha people of Hawaii, I'm Rob BURNS, running for the position of Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii. Friends ask me "why would you run for a government position, you're NOT a politician nor do you need a job"? The first thing you need to know about me is that I'm not a Politician. I'm not in this for myself. Hawaii is the only home I've ever known and I love the special people of Hawaii. I am a common sense businessman and self starter, "do it now", kind of guy, and can do what's right for Hawaii. I have the reputation to not only see problems but have sensible solutions, and a team to support me. I grew up in Kailua and started shaping surfboards in my garage before starting LOCAL MOTION, a surf lifestyle company. (see Bio under the About tab). I attended public schools, though my family attended Kamehameha School.
I have friends with children, most of which are struggling to stay in Hawaii, wondering if they should even keep trying. It's a very sad situation, and troubles me, enough to throw my hat in the ring to be a part of the change necessary. Hawaii has gone from being the best at Statehood to one of the worst States in the U.S. in most categories, with 69% of Hawaii residents being financially unhealthy. The high cost of living, low performing schools, poor infrastructure, no accountability for high cost boondoggles (such as the rail), land use restrictions, corruption, Covid lockdowns, regulations that stifle business, slow permitting, and the worst business climate are just a few of the things that need to be fixed! Again, I'm not a politician, and will make better common sense decisions for us, the ones you would make if you were asked. The government has not been good for the people of Hawaii and the lack of balance will be Hawaii's downfall, with the reoccurring theme of Blue States being the worst run States in the U.S.
Hawaii works for the "Party", not the people and "It's Time" Hawaii, to change it this election cycle.
